Project Description

Explore the hidden wonders of LALALand, a sandbox game where you get to discover a world from the perspective of a kid's toy.
There is no wrong way to play it; Look for hidden Easter eggs, complete quests, eliminate enemies, or even scale the very walls of the home!
Contributions to Final Year Project
Main 3D Character Artist
Despite my lack of experience in 3D modelling, I was able to help my team with the creations of our 3D character assets.
From modelling a hand few of characters to learning weight painting & rigging on the fly, I was able to provide the team with unique and a variety of animations for each asset.
With the occasional guidance from a few of my teammates and self research, I created well made animations for LALALand.
UI ARTIST
I provided help with the creations and ideations of a few UI assets and that is present in the game;
Collection Ui, Weapon slot Ui, Boss Health & Point Icon Ui.
Asides from this, I also made a team logo that is being used in the Point Icon Ui.

Symbiosis Promotional Material
When our team leader came to us artist with the liberty of creating the promotional material to represent our project in Symbiosis, I knew I wanted us to stand out.
After looking at the previous submissions, I realized that this is the perfect time to showcase each element of the game and the different roles we hold in the team. I suggested that our promotional material take reference from how games like Squad Busters, Cookie Run Kingdom and Zenless Zero Zero showcase their game in both Google Play store and Apple App store.
This is how we were able to showcase the many things players could do and expect from LALALand, all while balancing revealing too much or showing too little perfectly.

Key Take Away
Communication is REALLY important
Everyone tends to say that communicating with your team will help the process but never elaborated on why it is so important.
To me, its important as it will help clear up misunderstanding, assumptions and help prevent wasting precious time from the project. It also ensures that EVERYONE is on the same page at all times,
Its good to try and find a solution on your own before asking for help. This allows for problem based learning.
However, if you are stumped, there is no shame in asking for help. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can help point up where and what exactly needs fixing.
IF STUCK, ASK FOR HELP.
SAVE AT EVERY STAGE AND NAME THING PROPERLY.
As someone who used to not care to rename each layer, I found it crucial for file that was where we had to send to each other for rigging  and weight paint, that each part is properly named.
Not to mention, after having to redo a particular file for rigging multiple times due to not saving, I've started saving more often just to make sure that I do not lose progress on the work I've done.
